Dear Members,
It is hard to believe that 2025 is almost behind us. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in the STCGNY family for another year of hard work and dedication.
The geographical area that encompasses the Scottish Terrier Club of Greater New York is large. However, when there is an event or fun day, we come together and are a talented team! It is this effort that makes STCGNY a wonderful club.
STCGNY’s strength is rooted in our love of the Scottish Terrier. Whether it be in conformation and breeding healthy, well socialized pups or the grand effort that is STCGNY Rescue, we all have a part to play in the preservation of this amazing breed. Our Officers, Board of Directors and Members are a major source of experience in all things Scottie. I have often said that I continue to learn new things from them almost daily. Let us never forget all the fun performance events that Scotties enjoy! We have new members this year! Welcome to all!
As we all know our breed numbers are decreasing. Our breeders are doing their best to help this worrisome trend, but we cannot do it alone. Please remember to try to spend time with those individuals who are interested in Scotties or may be curious about showing and breeding. Sometimes this may be phone call from someone looking for a new addition to their family. It is the perfect time to spend a few minutes with them even if you do not have a dog available. People genuinely appreciate your time.
Dog shows are another great place to connect with newcomers. They will remember that someone took the time to talk with them.I can still remember the names and faces of those kind people who were there for me.
A huge thanks to Julie Tedeschi for her wonderful work on the Scottie Scoop!
Thank you for continuing this great Scottie journey. I am so immensely proud to be STCGNY’s President.
Happy Holidays and a Blessed New Year!
Amy Pelle
